About Bruce Lantz


Originally from Nova Scotia, Bruce Lantz has lived in Fort St. John since 1995. He has 37 years of media experience across Canada in positions ranging from editor to publisher to national consultant and broker.

After several years as publisher of the daily and weekly newspapers in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, he left and started the full-service public relations and marketing firm MegaMedia, which he still operates, and then launched a regional newspaper serving all of Northeastern BC, the Northeast NEWS, in 2004.

Bruce joined the Fort St. John & District Chamber of Commerce board of directors in 1996, serving as vice-president and president. He served in the BC Chamber of Commerce as director Northeastern BC.

He is a past-president of the Rotary Club of Fort St. John, and has served as Public Relations Director and World Community Service Director on the board of Rotary District 5370.  He was the Rotary Assistant Governor for Northeastern BC.

He is past-president of the Northern Lights College Foundation and has been director of the BC Coalition for Safer Communities, president of the North Peace Justice Society, president of the Fort St. John Literacy Society, and president of the Fort St. John Association for Community Living. Bruce was elected Mayor of the City of Fort St. John in 2008.
